I enjoy my work with couples. It is an experience to work with two individuals where the relationship is the "client" .
Here are a few of my couples presenting issues:
- considering longer term commitments
- considering divorce
- in need conflict resolution
- family of orgin, in-law strain
I always like to clarify with the couples I meet or speak with that their identified specific needs are paramount. Since I value your time and the importance of your specific needs I will always decline working with couples where I feel their needs are outside of my scope clinical expertise. I don't feel it is ethical to "wing it". In those cases I have colleagues and resources to offer in lieu of my services.
